Livingston Parish Library Summer Reading Program 2010

The summer reading program runs from May 24th to July 17th.

Children must come to the library to sign up for the program.

After signing up, a child receives a reading log, bookmark, and a pencil.

A child must read either 10 books or read for 10 hours to complete the program. After completing the program, certificates and incentives will be given out. The child must turn in his or her log to the library where he/she registered.

If a child is reading 10 books, the title of each book should be written in the reading log. When finished, the child should bring the reading log to the library. If a child wants to read more, his or her log will be returned to that child or the child will get a new log.

If a child is reading for time, then on the back of the log the child or parent should write down the amount of time each day that was spent reading.

When a child reads an additional 5 books or for 5 hours, he or she will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a special prize. A child can earn another raffle ticket for each 5 books or 5 hours read. A child may earn a maximum of 8 raffle tickets to enter into the drawing. The drawing will be held July 30th.
